Frisco Memorial High School head football coach Ron Vasek, 47, announced a new pre-game policy Tuesday requiring players to remain “in a posture of total neutrality” during the national anthem, defined as “not kneeling, not standing, not sitting, and not appearing to have feelings about it one way or the other.” Players have been instructed to hover approximately four inches above their seats by gripping the bleacher with their hands. “I don’t want politics in my sport,” said Vasek, who wore a flag pin, a flag tie, a flag belt buckle, and a hat reading FREEDOM. “We’re here to play ball.”
